LLM contract-review features inside our Next.js legal tech app

Claversham is a small legal tech startup (4 people, seed-funded) building a contract review tool for in-house counsel at mid-size companies. The app is Next.js 14 with TypeScript throughout, and we need someone to own the LLM layer: clause extraction, risk flagging against a customer-defined playbook, and a redline suggestion flow with inline citations back to the source clause. You will build the prompt orchestration and structured-output parsing, add streaming responses to the review UI, and set up guardrails so the model never invents clause text that is not in the document. We care a lot about latency and cost per document, so part of the job is instrumenting both and getting a 30-page contract reviewed in under 90 seconds. This is an ongoing engagement, roughly 20-25 hours a week to start. Our lead engineer reviews all PRs within a day. Lawyers on our pilot accounts will use what you ship within the same week, so we value careful, tested increments over big-bang merges.
