Rooms here are quieter than the address suggests - Plaza de Armas is busy by day and settles down well before midnight. It scores well on soundproofed rooms, less so on being the cheapest option in Plaza de Armas. Breakfast runs late enough that you do not have to set an alarm for it.

Poor value in Plaza de Armas
Mixed feelings about this one. The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions.
We asked twice about the noise and nothing came of it. Dust on the top of the wardrobe and behind the door, which we noticed on the first day.

Falls short of the description
Two nights, and two would have been plenty. Room was warm enough in November, which was the main worry.
The carpet on the sixth floor is due for replacing. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Not for us
It is priced sensibly, and that counts for something.
The mattress dips in the middle, which after three nights you notice.

Better than the photographs
Warm room, thick curtains and dark afternoons spent reading - exactly what November is for. Firm mattress, which suits us, and a duvet that is not the usual thin thing. Walking back from Machu Picchu after dinner took seven minutes and never once felt like a trek.
Genuinely nothing worth writing down.

Practical rather than charming
The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. The rate held steady when we added a night, which we appreciated.
The car park is a ten-minute walk and costs more per night than we expected.

Good sleep, good breakfast
The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not. They put a cot in without being asked and left a small plate of fruit for both boys. Lift straight from the street to the floor, so the suitcases were never a problem.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Cusco rather than the hotel.
