161 Hlíðar Avenue, Hlíðar, Reykjavík, Iceland3.1 km from centreShow on map
Rooms here are quieter than the address suggests - Hlíðar is busy by day and settles down well before midnight. Guests rate it for 24-hour front desk and family rooms available. Good for one night before a flight and good for five without one.

Never again
It is quiet during the day, if that is any use to anyone.
The bathroom door did not shut and the toilet ran all night. Housekeeping did not come at all in three nights and we asked for towels twice.

Comfortable and well placed
Two nights in and I was sleeping through until eight, which never happens for me. I upgraded to the Standard Double Room and would do it again without thinking. Samir sorted a late checkout on the last day without me even having to push for it.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Does the job
Comfortable bed, and they brought firmer pillows within ten minutes of asking - the bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. Good position overall, and we walked most places rather than paying for cabs.
Thin walls, so we knew a fair amount about our neighbours and their travel plans.

No surprises, good or bad
Fair value for Reykjavík prices, particularly in high season.
It is a good fifteen minutes from the nearest tram stop, further than the listing suggests.

Warm welcome in Hlíðar
They put a cot in without being asked and left a small plate of fruit for the little one. You step out of the door and you are already somewhere worth being.
Nothing at all, and we looked.

Really rather good
Booked this on a whim and glad I did. I was at Hallgrímskirkja in twenty-five minutes on foot, which changed how I used the days. In at eleven at night, out at six, and everything worked. That is all I need. Plenty of storage in the Deluxe King Room, which sounds dull until you have unpacked for a fortnight.
No complaints from us this time.
