Seller terms

One commission, transparent settlement, payouts on request.

The commission: 10%

Harbor takes a flat 10% commission on each item sold, calculated on the item total (unit price × quantity) at the moment of purchase. The rest — your earnings — is credited to your shop the instant an order is paid. There are no listing fees, no monthly fees and no payout fees; the commission also funds the free Buyer Protection every buyer gets.

Example: a $60.00 sweater sells → commission $6.00 → you earn $54.00.

When earnings settle

  • Pending on sale. When an order is paid, your earnings for each item land in your shop's pending ledger.
  • Settled on delivery. When the buyer confirms delivery (or delivery is simulated from your dashboard), the earnings move from pending to your available balance. Delivery confirmation — not shipping — is the settlement trigger, because that's when the buyer's 14-day window starts with the goods actually in hand.
  • Payouts on request. From Seller → Payouts you can withdraw your full available balance at any time. Each payout gets a reference number and appears in your payout history immediately (payments are simulated in this demo).

Returns, disputes & clawbacks

When an item is returned within the 14-day window, or the platform team resolves a Buyer Protection dispute with a refund, the buyer is made whole and your earnings for that item are reversed:

  • If the earnings were still pending, they are simply withheld.
  • If they had already settled, the amount is clawed back from your available balance (your balance never goes below zero).

Disputes are decided by the Harbor platform team — sellers can see an open dispute on the order but cannot close it themselves.

Listing rules

  • Honest size charts. Every clothing listing carries a per-size chart in centimeters. The form pre-fills an industry-standard template for your category — adjust it to your garment's real measurements, don't invent flattering ones. Fit feedback from buyers is aggregated publicly, so inflated charts show up fast.
  • Palette colorways only. Colors come from Harbor's fixed palette of 10 named shades (Ecru, Charcoal, Terracotta, …) — no free-form color codes. It keeps the catalog's color filter meaningful.
  • Illustrated visuals. Product imagery is generated garment art — there are no photo uploads, so there is nothing to license, moderate or fake.
  • Sane numbers. Prices must be above zero, per-size stock is capped at 99, and titles run 3–80 characters. The listing form validates all of it.
  • Fictional labels only. Harbor is a demo — real brand names, trademarks or counterfeit listings have no place here, even pretend ones.

Becoming a seller

Any Harbor account can open a shop — head to Sell, pick a shop name and you're live. No approval queue in the demo.

Demo note: these terms describe simulated commerce between fictional labels. Commissions, settlements, payouts and clawbacks all run for real inside the demo ledger, but no actual money is involved. Data resets hourly.
