Selling & Payout Policy

Last updated: August 2026 · LOREM IPSUM HOLDINGS LTD

Demonstration build. This document is sample wording shown to illustrate the product. Nothing here is a live service and nothing here forms a binding agreement: no item is traded, no payment is taken, and the company name, registration number and address are placeholders that refer to no real entity.

Introduction

This Policy explains how you can sell Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 items ("Items") to LOREM IPSUM HOLDINGS LTD (the "Company", "we") through the website facet.example (the "Website"), how and when you become entitled to be paid for them, and how payouts are made. It supplements the Terms of Use; in case of conflict on the subject of selling and payouts, this Policy prevails.

In short: you sell an Item to the Company; the Company verifies it has received the Item; your remuneration is credited to your account balance; you request a payout; the Company pays you. Each step is described below and is visible in your account at all times.

There are two ways to sell. Instant sell (sections 1-4): the Company buys the Item from you at 85% of catalogue value. Community market (section 8): you list the Item at your own price and sell it to another user; the Company holds the buyer's payment, verifies delivery and charges a 8% fee. Balances, holds, payouts and identity checks (sections 4-6) are the same for both.

  3. 3

85% of the market value is credited to your balance, frozen while Steam can still reverse the trade.

1. Nature of the transaction

  • When you accept a quote on the "Sell skins" page, you offer to sell the specified Item to the Company. In an instant sale the Company is the buyer. (Sales between users take place on the Community market and are governed by section 8.)
  • The sale is completed - and the Company becomes obliged to pay you - only when the Company has actually received the Item in its Steam account (the "Receiver") and this receipt has been verified (see section 3). Until then the quote is a non-binding price reservation that you may cancel at any time, and the Item remains yours.
  • The Company buys Items for its own inventory and resells them through the Website. The price we pay you and the price we later sell for are independent; the difference is the Company's margin and covers verification, Steam-related risk and operating costs.

2. Quotes and pricing

  • The quote for an Item is 85% of its current Facet catalogue value in USD, shown to you before you decide. The catalogue value is the Company's own assessment and may differ from other marketplaces.
  • A quote is valid for 60 minutes. If the Item does not reach the Receiver within that time, the quote expires automatically and no sale takes place.
  • We only buy Items valued between $1.00 and $5,000.00 (higher-value Items by individual agreement via support), Items that are tradable in Steam at the time of the quote, and Items that appear in our catalogue. We may decline to quote any Item at our discretion.
  • Quotes are per individual Item (identified by its Steam asset). Sending a different item, a different wear or a different quantity does not complete the sale; such items will be returned on request.

3. Delivery to the Receiver and verification

  • You deliver the Item yourself by sending a Steam trade offer to the Receiver's trade URL shown with the quote. The Receiver accepts only offers in which you give the quoted Item and ask for nothing in return; it never sends items and never requests your Steam credentials.
  • The Company treats the Item as received only when its verification worker independently observes the Item in the Receiver's public Steam inventory. Notifications from your browser or from Steam, or the status of the trade offer, are not by themselves proof of delivery.
  • Verification normally completes within minutes. The status of every sale (awaiting your trade, received, clearing, paid, reversed, expired) is shown on the "Sell skins" and "Wallet" pages together with a timeline.

4. Remuneration, your balance and the hold period

  • On verified receipt, the quoted amount is credited to your Facet account balance in USD. This credit is your remuneration for the sale and is recorded as a ledger entry you can see in your Wallet.
  • Because Steam's Trade Protection lets a completed trade be reversed for 7 days, the credit is first placed on hold for that period. Held funds are yours but cannot be withdrawn. When the reversal window closes, the hold is released automatically to your available balance - no action is needed.
  • If the trade is reversed during the hold period and the Item leaves the Receiver, the sale is unwound: the credit is cancelled and the corresponding entry is shown in your ledger. If the credit had already been released and withdrawn, the amount becomes a debt owed to the Company.
  • Balances do not earn interest, are not a deposit or e-money account, and can be used only for payouts under this Policy (and, where enabled, for purchases on the Website).

5. Payouts (withdrawals)

  • You may request a payout of your available balance at any time from your Wallet. Available methods, fees, minimums and usual timing:
    • Visa / Mastercard - min $10.00, fee 2.5% (min $1.00), 1-2 business days.
  • The maximum single payout is $10,000.00; larger balances can be withdrawn in several requests. Fees are deducted from the requested amount and shown before you confirm.
  • Payouts are made only to accounts, cards or wallets held in your own name - the same person who owns the Steam account used to sell. We do not pay third parties.
  • When you submit a request, the amount is reserved (deducted from your available balance) so it cannot be requested twice. The Company reviews and executes requests within 3 business days. You may cancel a request that has not yet been approved; the amount returns to your balance immediately. If a request is declined, the amount is returned to your balance and the reason is shown in your Wallet.
  • Balances are held in USD. Payouts in another currency are converted at the rate applied by the payment provider on the day of the transfer.

6. Identity verification (KYC) and anti-money-laundering

  • The Company is a company registered in England and Wales and applies anti-money-laundering controls. Where the total of your payouts in any 30-day period would exceed $1,000.00, we require you to verify your identity once (government ID and, where requested, a selfie) before further payouts are made. The name on the payout account must match the verified identity.
  • We may also request verification, delay or decline a payout, or suspend selling where we reasonably suspect fraud, use of stolen items or accounts, sanctions exposure or a breach of the Terms of Use. Verified documents are stored securely, shown only to our compliance staff, and deleted once verification is complete (see the Privacy Policy).

7. Refusals, returns and disputes

  • If an Item reaches the Receiver without a matching quote (for example, a different item than quoted), no sale takes place. Contact support with your Steam ID and the item; we will return it to the same Steam account.
  • If you believe a verified sale was not credited, a hold was not released, or a payout was not received, contact support@facet.example with the sale or request reference from your Wallet. We investigate against the Receiver's Steam trade history and our ledger and respond within 5 business days.

8. Community market (selling to other users)

  • On the "Market" page you may list an Item from your own Steam inventory at a price you choose (between $1.00 and $20,000.00, up to 50 active listings). A listing is an offer to sell that Item to another registered user (the "Buyer"). The Company is not a party to the sale: it operates the marketplace, holds the Buyer's payment, verifies delivery and settles the money.
  • Fee. When a listing sells, the Company charges the seller a marketplace fee of 8% of the sale price, shown before you list and again in your sales history. The Buyer pays exactly the listed price; nothing is added on top. Your remuneration is the price minus the fee.
  • Payment and delivery. The Buyer pays from their account balance; the amount is debited immediately and held by the Company. You must then send a Steam trade offer with the Item to the Buyer's Trade URL within 60 minutes and mark it as sent; the Buyer has 24 hours to accept it. The whole delivery must complete within 25 hours of the sale. Until the Item is delivered it remains your property.
  • Verification. Delivery is complete only when the Company's verification worker observes the Item in the Buyer's public Steam inventory and the Company confirms this itself. Statements by either party ("I sent it", "I accepted it") are signals for the timeline, not proof of delivery. The Buyer must keep their Steam inventory public during delivery; a private inventory prevents verification.
  • Settlement. On verified delivery the Buyer's held payment is final and your remuneration is credited to your balance. Sales of $50.00 or more, and your first 3 market sales, are credited on hold for 7 days (Steam's reversal window, section 4); other sales are credited as available balance. If Steam reverses the trade within that window, the Buyer is refunded and the credit is cancelled (or becomes a debt if already withdrawn).
  • Non-delivery. If the Item is not delivered by the deadline, or you cancel before sending the offer, the order is closed, the Buyer is refunded in full and your listing is removed. You are not paid. Should the Item nevertheless reach the Buyer after the refund (for example, a late-accepted offer), the Company may charge the Buyer again for the identified Item and pay you; ambiguous cases are reviewed by support without moving money. Repeated non-delivery may lead to suspension of selling.
  • Buyer's obligations. The Buyer must provide their own valid Steam Trade URL, keep their inventory public until delivery is confirmed, and accept only the trade offer that matches the order. The Company never asks either party for Steam credentials and never sends items in a market sale.
  • Disputes. Either party may contact support@facet.example with the order reference within 14 days. We decide on the basis of Steam's trade history and the verification records; the Company's records of the Buyer's inventory are decisive for delivery.

9. Changes

We may update rates, fees, limits and this Policy. Changes apply to quotes opened and listings created after the change is published; open quotes, active listings, orders in progress, held credits and pending payout requests are handled under the rules in force when they were created.
